Sir

Now, for H.323-SIP you may end up needing them as the requirements for that are
a little different than the standard SIP-SIP.

Can you kindly explain the above point also. Pls dont mind if i am asking too
much.

The supplementary services that you're referring to that require DSPs on CUBE
are not the traditional 'supplementary services' that are normally talked
about. The supplementary services that require DSPs on CUBE are things like
volume normalization, echo cancellation, and some frequency smoothing
techniques. I don't believe these are all that commonly used, but they are
still pretty cool and powerful features.

In order to support hold/transfer/conference and the normal "supplementary
features" you should NOT need an MTP for a SIP trunk. Normally when you enable
an MTP to get these things to work it's a band-aid for another problem or a
misconfiguration. MTPs are very good at fixing those types of problems, but you
should not need an MTP. Now, for H.323-SIP you may end up needing them as the
requirements for that are a little different than the standard SIP-SIP.
