[cisco-voip] Mask Internal extension number

This probably isn't the answer you want but you could perhaps set the external
phone number mask to 0 and have the receptionist dial their full PSTN
number...in other words, hairpinning the calls. Truly silly but it would
probably give you the end result you wanted...minus the receptionist dialing an
internal extension. Or you could have the receptionist dial a N-digit extension
which would be translated to the full X-digit number to be hairpinned which
should also show the external phone number mask which would require the
receptionist to be in their own partition/css.

....or here's what Ed Leatherman came up with dealing with TAC..

or here's what Lelio said back in 2009

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/cisco/nsp/110039

either way you cut it...there's nothing pretty or scalable for masking internal
DNs yet... perhaps in CUCM9 or 10 cisco will come up with something.

Have fun. . .

Subject: [cisco-voip] Mask Internal extension number

Hi All

I am trying to hide the internal extension number from users when the reception
rings other internal users in the organisation. I would like the number “0” to
appear instead of her extension number.

I have setup a translation pattern that matches a Partition that is only her CSS

which matches any extension number and mask the calling number with a “0” – this

doesn’t work however if I put a specific extension number in the Translation
pattern match and dial that match it will work.

Any help would be great

Thanks
