Subject: [cisco-voip] E164 Advice
Hi guys,
I have a new single site small install coming up with UC 8.5 (CM, Presence & Connection) which will be integrated with AD. They have their telephony field in AD poulated with the full E164 number (ie +35315551234).
The Telco (E1) does not accept E164 outgoing and only sends 4-digit called number (ie 1234) for incoming calls.
I am looking for advice & gotchas for setting this up as I've never used the full E164 as the telephony field before.
For CM should I translate to E164 on the gateway & have the Phone DNs with the full E164 or just leave it as 4 digit DNs and just do internal translations?
Presence & Unity Connection will also be AD integrated.............
This is probably simple enough but just have the fear of the unknown & only have a small window to get the up and running so want to avoid as many pitfalls as possible
Cheers
Russell
