[cisco-voip] best remote control software out there?

Cisco internally uses E-tel to connect remotely to 7965 phones (works
on 7961 too, btw). The tool does not rely on screen captures over the
network and is ridiculously fast on color phones, with less than 250
ms response time. Slow internet lines could add to this, but there is
no graphical image transfer from the phone to the tool.
Cisco Voice CCIE Learning labs are equipped with this stuff and if you
are internal - you could get lucky to have one.
It also could bring sound to the remote side - both supervizory tones
and speech (G.711 both, G.722 and G.729 all flavors are supported),
but that requires an extra low-profile server to be deployed around
the aggregation switch for the phones. Cisco Voice classes use it with
or without sound, as they wish.
HTH,
Adel.
