[cisco-voip] ANI based call routing with UCM 8.x

This reminds me of Cisco's PLAR and "how do I hide my calling name/number" solutions, which are based on partitions and calling search spaces. I think it's making use of what's there to provide a feature/solution rather than integrating a feature-focused option/parameter.

Right? Wrong? Who knows. But I still think it's odd how much work is involved to make a PLAR. And hiding calling information is not very scalable since it requires quite a bit of replication.

It is a bit clunky, as most new features/abilities usually are.

I hope this process becomes more streamlined in future releases.

The way it is implemented in 8.x is a bit clunky, since it has to hit a tx pattern that says route the next hop by calling numbers, and then the next tx pattern it hits has to be the pattern that has the calling number in it. After much playing around I got it to work but the Cisco docs on it are lacking last time I checked.

I get excited everytime I read that doc....than remember it's for v8.0 and above only. :(

OK, not "excited" excited, but you know what I mean....

I can;t think of a way to do ANI based call routing with UCM. This is for incoming PSTN calls. Has anyone deployed this successfully?

Thanks
