You may have some routing/firewalling issue preventing the audio strem from reaching the Unity server

I have similar issue in one of our branch, when outside caller want leave message he can hear the greeting but unable to leave the message, Unity is not getting voice and start telling the option press 1 to do this? although we did not change on the gateway.

Abebe,

It seems that you need to recheck your NAT configurations in the ASA. It seems that the IP addresses negotiated in the call setup for media transmissions is not being translated on the ASA (Essentially, the Unity Connection address) so when the call is negotiated, the 2911 Gateway received the untranslated UC address, and it will never receive an audio packet with such an address, hence the silence.

Hope this helps

Ariel.

Dears,

We have a remote site with a Cisco 2911 ISR G2. Incoming calls to the main DID are redirected to a Unity connection call handler at the main office. The main office and the remote office are connected through an ASA 5510 site-to-site VPN. There was a NAT configuration change done on the ASA and the problem started after that. Calls between phones in the two offices are successful and I can ping the Unity Connection server from the remote office The issue is that incoming call to the main line hear silence. There is also nothing appearing on the Unity port monitor tool. Can you point me what to look for to solve this issue?

best regards,

Abebe Amare
