[cisco-voip] pwd changes in CCM4.3 and IPCCX 6

The CCMAdministrator (MLA) password is not an OS account and can be changed at will. The web admin password in IPCCX is just the enduser password in CUCM.

Keep in mind the user accounts that IPCCX is using to authenticate to CUCM and make sure you change them in IPCCX before CUCM. There's a pretty strong chance of locking yourself out of IPCCX entirely if it cannot authenticate to CUCM because the CUCM password got changed first.

Thanks Ryan.
Ok what about changing the local admin password and the ccmadministrator (ccm application), ipccadmin (crs application) passwords. Do you recommend changing them.

What passwords are you changing? If it's every password on the server my recommendation is don't. If it's just the local admin password then just make sure all servers in the CM cluster have the same one and you'll be fine.

The service account passwords are generated using a non-reversable hash and should never be changed manually via the OS. There is a utility to change them in bulk across the cluster but I would not advise touching it unless things are already broken.

Hi,
I have the requirement to change the passwords of CCM 4.3 (publisher and subscriber) and IPCCX 6 (primary and secondary) . Please let me know if there are any issues faced by changing passwords.

What are the best practices and steps to change the passwords of CCM 4.3 and IPCCX 6.

Regards.
