It's open source so implementation is vendor dependent. Samsung got it right. So do you mandate your customers have to be Samsung/Apple only for AnyConnect for Android/IOS.

Apps just need to tunnel over https and forget the vpn.

Any connect is supposed to work on ice cream sandwich without root. Google added support into the base code to allow this. I have it on my galaxy nexus albeit I have always been rooted so I can't verify.

Correct, it's carrier dependent without root With the majority of carrier/tablets not allowing the Android AnyConnect VPN client to run. Apple seems to be the only exception due to a lawsuit settlement over the ios name.
Be great if Google forced a VPN feature, without it your application needs to tunnel inside https end to end.

If were to sell Mobile Jabber licenses with Cuwl Pro, the android user will have their mobile cell work internally (on-net) Wifi to network, but once they leave and need Jabber working remotely I dont see how to get vpn working to corp network.
I have versions 2.3 and gingerbread v4. I am going to test a samsung S III next week.
How are we to roll out hundreds of android phones with root access, Verizon locks their phones down, so do sprint and ATT.
has anyone gotten Cisco Anyconnect working on a Cisco supported device without root access....
OF course, IPhone works no problem, this is not an issue.
Please someone Cisco respond or anyone have ever tried this?
What other stable vpn programs are people using on android to connect to corp network for other Firewalls like Sonic wall or Checkpoint or Juniper ?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Regards,
