How about booting windows to a previous working version before this
patch was applied?

I've ran into this where some clients installed unsupported patches
and unity stopped working right. Sometimes uninstalling the patch was
ok, other times still problems due to changes underneath that aren't
completely removed with patch uninstall, etc. That's why it is
important to disable auto-install of automatic updates and only apply
cisco approved patches for unity.

You could try the previous working version on boot up, one time I was
able to fix a client system by installing latest cisco updates for
unity from cisco.com, so that may be something worth trying. Before
you do anything, I would try to get a good DIRT or COBRAS backup just
in case it comes down to rebuilding the system which is what you
probably want to do anyway in the end if you're staying on it.
