If I remember my port channel correctly,
(reference:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk213/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094714.shtml
)
The load-balancing method can be:
- src-mac
- dst-mac
- src-dst-mac
- src-ip
- dst-ip
- src-dst-ip
- src-port
- dst-port
- src-dst-port
Different equpiment defaults to different things, but it's easy to see how
either source IP or Source MAC could force all traffic over one link, and
return traffic over another.
