Our ESW contract has the mobile user SKU is that what you are referring to? Or is there yet another Jabber client ESW/Smartnet SKU?

We looked into jabber for another customer last week and as long as your ESW has the jabber product attached you should be covered. I'll second the recommendation to email the list in the denial message.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow.

Lelio,

There should be a link on the error/denied message to email them, so far every time i've contacted them they've replied the same day with a link to download the files I needed, as long as I provide the ESW contract number and my cisco.com ID. They are still getting it ironed out I think.

No clue about cucimoc sorry =(

It looks like they've started hammering down on the software downloads already.... a bit too hard if you ask me. :(

We have ESW on our CallManager v7.1, we purchased iPhone and Android software licenses and we have mobile clients on our ESW support list.

Tells me I can't download the iPhone or Android COP files.

To make things more confusing, the documentation says the Jabber clients use the same dialing rules as CUCIMOC, but we don't have a CUCIMOC contract. How am I ever going to get to download those?

Going to contact our ESW reseller....

The way I understand it the requirement is an OR so ESW or SNT will get you phone loads. More details on that will be coming in February with the warning being up for at least 6 months before access gets locked down again.

Ryan for clarification, if we have SAU / ESW /etc on CM we WILL be able to download phone firmware?

or do we have to have Smartnet on the phones also?

By the way access to Cius firmware got sorted out the last week of December. In the future for all phone downloads Smartnet on the phone hardware or ESW on your CUCM will get you access to the files. We're in a new grace period for Cius (at least) where any account can download the software but the full restriction will go back in place some time summer 2012.

Going forward if you start getting banners warning you that you may not be authorized to download software on cisco.com you should pay attention. The banners will eventually go away and you just won't be allowed to get it at some point.

If you are running 8.5 i think cius is already a device option right? I dont think you really need to reboot in that case, just restart TFTP service.

And yeah, we've been discussing the download/contract thing back and forth, it's a pain. If you contact the email address it lists in the error message they should be able to publish the file for you.

Unless I'm blocked from downloading it because I don't have it on contract. arrg.

Let me rephrase that question.

Any other COP files I should add? (Incase we get any other demo's)

I've downloading the Android jabber .cop right now

And my manager wanted to play with his new toy "Now!"

Off to schedule a Cluster reboot.

Anything else I should know before I reboot? I'm on 8.5.1.11900-21. I've uploaded the .cop file on all Pub/SUBs.

If your system already knows about the CIUS and your just updateing firmware, then just a TFTP restart is ok. If you’re adding a new device, you have to reboot the whole cluster.

Just got my demo cius today.

The COP file doesn't require a reboot or anything (just a TFTP restart)? (Just covering my bases)

All I've found is the Wireless LAN deployment guide. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/ccmcd/deploy/9_2_1/english/ciusdply921.pdf

Is there anything else for documentation out there?

Right now the external display is a mirror of the main Cius display (720p). The ability to have a separate display with a larger resolution is highly desired but I don't know if it's been committed to a release yet.

ok - i remember now... the .cnf.xml files are stored in memory, so as long

as you have the correct filename, you can download the file directly from

your TFTP server using the same PumpKIN tool.

I had gotten as far as needing the XMLDefault.cnf.xml. With some

experimentation I found out that I needed to add:

<loadInformation593>sipcius.9-2-2-49</loadInformation593>

to the XMLDefault.cnf.xml to get the Cius to do the upgrade.
