Yes, the good old vi, or maybe the slightly more friendly vim is
available. However, the joe editor is often available which is pretty
similar to edit under DOS.

My suggestion for learning vi editor: download and install gvim for the PC
from vim.org. Once installed find the vimtutor link in the start menu.

In 30 minutes or so you will be comfortable enough to do basic editing in
it. :) Actually, after that you might be pissed every time notepad opens
:)
