[cisco-voip] CUP to CUCM HA w/o DNS?

Hi,

when adding a CUP cluster (one pub, one sub) to an existing CUCM cluster
(one pub, one sub) where the entire existing UC system (also including
UCCX and a CUC cluster) is configured without DNS (and not going to change),
how is HA going to work for the SIP PUBLISH trunk? I'm trying to wrap my
head around this and partially grok the docs, but so far there seems to
be a mismatch between statements that DNS (and DNS SRV load balancing)
is entirely optional (though recommended) and the fact that a SIP trunk
with a single dotted decimal IPv4 destination address can't automatically
find the subscriber node. I think I'm missing something?
