I have not heard anything about ESXi 5.5 support coming soon. I think I saw something about it being a few months out. I will post to the partner forum and see if I can get a response. The PM responsible for this is usually pretty quick to answer things.

Howdy.
I am looking at the UC Virtualization requirements on the Cisco Site (http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_VMware_Requirements) and specifically investigating ESXi 5.5. I see references to ESXi 5.5, however it is not listed specifically within the table labeled as "VMware vSphere ESXi Version Support for Call Processing and System Management Applications".

I would assume this means that it is currently not supported, however the table is sized properly for an additional column which in my mind would say "VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5" which leads me to believe that it is coming soon, just like all the documentation appearing for CM 10.x leads me to believe we should have downloadable media "soon".
Can anyone here who might know a little more comment on this? I am smack in the middle of a project upgrading our UC environment from 6.x and 7.x to 9.x and would like to make sure that I am moving to the latest supported versions the whole way through. I would rather push off a week and go directly to 5.5 opposed to going through a maintenance window to upgrade hosts a week after deployment. We currently only have Call Manager, Unity (soon to be Connections) and Emergency Responder, which for the individual Virtualization pages each list full support for 4.0, 4.1, 5.0 and 5.1.
Thanks,
Blake
