I'm no UCCE person, but would it require the value to be enclosed in quotes?

Example: Call.user.microapp.caller_input == "#"

How does it look when you want to check equality for a numeric value?

Example:  Call.user.microapp.caller_input == 1  OR
Call.user.microapp.caller_input == "1"
