[cisco-voip] UC on non-Cisco VMware hardware?

Last I heard (around 8.5) Cisco did not support UC on anything but their
hardware for virtualization.  Now I'm reading this:

and it looks like that may have changed since I was last in the loop.
Can anyone weigh in on this?  Is it now accepted, what are the
restrictions, etc.?
