[cisco-voip] UC on non-Cisco VMware hardware?

They have had specs based for a while restricted to HP/IBM, maybe <1 month ago, they now are expanded to specs based for any hardware provider.
The DocWiki is generally THE reference for what is/isn't allowed and that page is exactly what you need to be reading.

Last I heard (around 8.5) Cisco did not support UC on anything but their hardware for virtualization.  Now I'm reading this:

and it looks like that may have changed since I was last in the loop.  Can anyone weigh in on this?  Is it now accepted, what are the restrictions, etc.?
