I believe Dana is right, CUPC gets ldap profile info from the IM&P server.
How are you even logging in to the client without the server?

We do not have a CUP Server.
We are using Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence 9.1
And there is no LDAP configuration in the system; users can log into CUPC 8.6.3, it shows their VXC6215 as the controlled device, but they cannot use chat or add contacts (no results in the directory).

Hi Jonathan,
Doesn’t CUPC use the legacy LDAP server and Profile settings configured on the CUP server? Have you got this profile configured and applied to your users?
Cheers

Subject: [cisco-voip] CUPC with VXC 6215
We have deployed Cisco Unified Personal Communicator on VDI using VXC 6215s.
When we search the directory, no results are shown and we get an error that Credentials are missing a required username.
The solution is to go to File - Options and add the username to Accounts, but there is no accounts tab under options...
How do we fix this?
Jonathan
