[cisco-voip] BLF lines, line groups, and christmas trees

Hi all,
I have't found an effective combination of search terms to find a solution
for this so was hoping someone else has encountered it. I have a 7914
sidecar with BLFs to monitor 10 different lines, each on a different
phone. Each of the 10 watched lines are members of an overflow line
group, so when a call overflows to that group, the watcher's sidecar lights
up like a Christmas tree due to all 10 lines being in alerting state.
Does anyone know if there's a way to prevent alerting status from being
relayed to the watchers if the call arrives via a line group?
Thanks all,
Bill
