Nevermind, the SW-CCM-UL-7942 doesn't seem to be required any more. You'll just need the appropriate number of DLUs in 8.x for this phone.

David,
Which part numbers are you looking at?
Here's the ordering info from the 7942 data sheet (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps379/ps8535/product_data_sheet0900aecd8069bb68.html):
Table 4. Ordering Information-Phone/license
Part Number Description
CP-7942G Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
CP-7942G= Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, spare
CP-7942G-CH1 Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, for Channels, with one station user license
CP-7942G-CCME Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, for Channels, with one Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express station user license
So you'll probably want to order a CP-7942G with the SW-CCM-UL-7942. Your account team should be able to confirm.
Brian

I am looking to buy a 7942 as a replacement for a dying 7940.
I have two choices: a 7942 with CCME license, or one with a BE3000 license.
Would either one work on a full blown CM 8.0 install?
