[cisco-voip] public space license in v9 and above...

Correct, that phone is going to consume a license just as if a user had only that phone associated with no additional features (hence the lowest level). If you account for the EM phones as users when converting your DLUs then there should be no surprises, license violations, and frustrating calls to TAC.

Thanks Ryan.
Just to make sure, you're not suggesting we have to assign the phone to a user, just ensure we get the correct user license that it will use up. What I wanted to make sure was that this "correct user license" would be based, pretty much, on the phone model used.
And yes, I could have done a better search of the archives... :(

To reiterate what's been covered more than a few times, when you are doing your UCT planning for the license migration it is critical you count your public space phones as a separate user and get a license to account for it.

Hi Lelio,
Yes, that is correct. From version 9 all phones that are not assigned to a user are licensed by the model type.

In CUCM v7, there was the concept of a public space license. Has this gone away in v9 and above? Is it now tied to a simple minimum license required for the device? i.e. if it's a 7900 series phone, it uses an enhanced license?
