[cisco-voip] 8945 can't place call while call is ringing in

That pretty much sums up the expected behavior IMO. I tried on a few models and couldn't get it to work. Even corporate directory won't let you make an outbound call when another call is ringing-in.

There is no new call option for ring in

Maybe add new call to the ring-in state on the softkey template? But do the 8945s use softkey template yet?

Based on your question am I correct in thinking this is the expected behavior across all phone models?

I'm at a loss here.

We have 8945 phones.

Is there any way to place an outbound call while a call is ringing in without using idivert and without adding a second line to the phone? We don't want clients to know they've been purposely diverted to voicemail should one of our stronger willed partners want to make an outbound call while a call is ringing in.
