[cisco-voip] RESOLVED: 2911 with PVDM-3 and 3x9971s and no Video Conference Homogeneous

Spot on. Fixed it.

So why is the default “Service Parameter > Default Interregion Max Video Call Bit Rate (Includes Audio) > 384 “ not working for video calls? I think the answer is my dspfarm profile x conference video homogenous I selected h264 vga, and that means that only VGA calls will work which uses more than 384K for VGA.

What I am not clear is for my 9971s what “video codec h264 x” can be used with the default inter-region service parameter of 384 and work? I can’t find a mapping showing if qcif or cif, etc can use 384k.

2811-ATL(config-dspfarm-profile)#codec h264 ?
  4cif Allowed Resolutions: 4CIF and 4SIF
  720p Allowed Resolution: 720p
cif Allowed Resolutions: CIF and SIF
qcif Allowed Resolutions: QCIF and QSIF
  vga Allowed Resolution: VGA
  w360p Allowed Resolution: w360p
  w448p Allowed Resolution: w448p

R1(config-dspfarm-profile)#codec h264

Modify my relationship to the same region for “Maximum Session Bit Rate for Video Calls” from Use System Default to the radio box 10000 kbps

Here is what a good 3-way 9971 VGA video call now looks like once I set the region to 10000 kbps ! ☺

I had this working back in my lab at Cisco at the beginning of the year. I don't have that config anymore though. I remember it was a bit finicky to get it working right.

Try increasing the max video bit rate for video calls on the region to something like 10000 to eliminate that as a potential issue. The bitrate on your conference bridge configuration is pretty high.

CallManager traces may be useful here as well to eliminate anything on that side.

Yes a single Device Pool/same region. Point to point I get my audio and h264 video (can see it via by going to phone ip address in web browser and looking at stream1/stream2)

Once I hit conference it’s an audio only call. I was expecting some sort of 3-way video.

Perhaps some debug sccp all and callmanager logs.

Anyone have this working ? I didn’t spec out a full MCU as I understood the PVDM3-256 could do some sort of 3-way basic video conference.

Is the conference bridge in the same region on the phones? Can the phones successfully due H.264 directly between 2 endpoints?

I have 3 9971s same Device Pool, etc in Callmanager 9.1.2. Running latest 9971 firmware 9-4-1-9. Running 2911 with IOS 15.1.4M2. Video Conference is in its own MRG in the MRGL first in CCM.

The 2911 Homogeneous Video Confer Bridge is in use via the PVDM3-256 but not doing h264, why? It’s just an audio call?
