This is how I’ve done it. Install sizes range from ~50 users/1 site to ~1100users/15 sites. Most things seem to switch immediately and everything in 5-10 minutes. Got to watch if you have older gateways some of them are persnickety and require a reboot
YMMV

Subject: [cisco-voip] 7->9 jump upgrade cutover

Hello!

Anyone have experience with flash cutting a cluster? Jump upgrade guide just says disconnect old cluster and connect upgraded cluster - is there a more graceful way to do this with phone registrations? Should I shut down CM service on the old cluster first or will the phones/new cluster sort out all its tcp sessions cleanly if I just swap network connectivity?

I've got matching firmware on both clusters and the database appears to be in good working order on the new cluster, just want to minimize any surprises.

Thanks!

Ed
