[cisco-voip] 3850 switches - Some phones show "Ethernet Disconnected" when connected

We've run into an odd issue at a customer that is in the process of
replacing 3750/3750E PoE switches with the new 3850 switches.

When some of the phones are plugged into the 3850 switches they power up but
then say "Ethernet Disconnected"

Looking at the switch you don't see a link-light for that port.

Unplugging the phone and re-attaching to the same port doesn't seem to help.

Moving the patch cable to a different 3850 port seems to resolve the issue.

Phones in question are 7942/62 on CUCM 8.6 with the code just before the
headset transfer issue (I can't recall the exact version at this moment)

These phones were previously plugged into the 3750's using the same wall
jack prior to the switch upgrades and never had any issues.

Has anyone else run into this issue with the new 3850s ?

Thanks
