[cisco-voip] Telecom

Here at Red Deer College our telecom exists within the Infrastructure group.   Infrastructure manages the network, telecom, cabling, SAN, servers, VM environment.

I look after the telecom, cabling and relevant software, including managing the Cisco VoIP, CUCM, UCCX, Emergency Broadcast system, etc.

Background is Telecom with Network training.   I am journeyman Communication Electrician with Computer Systems diploma.

We are trying to gather some information on where Telecom exists in a higher education environment.  Most  times it is in the Network department somewhere in IT in general.

One more question - for those in charge of Telecom who manage the VoIP systems, etc...

Is your background Telecom or Network?

I think most on this list are in the Network environment.
