[cisco-voip] Cisco DX650 question and concern

I can’t recall the DX650 plan vs the 70 and 80 but I advise against it. I’ve heard the plan is for the android portion of these things to disappear… Talk to your AM/SE for more info. Otherwise you may end up with gratification now and complaints later when some update just removes access to android.

Hi Everyone,

We are deploying a limited number of DX650 devices and have been getting push-back to unlock the underlying Android OS to allow access to the internet and Play Store. Since the devices are connected to the voice VLAN, we have concerns about the potential security risks.

Has anyone else deployed these devices "unlocked" and what was the result? What did your network security engineers have to say?
