I can see it maybe just because BIB for recording still isn’t supported as far as I recall. That and some organizations just don’t want to deal with the compliance issues of an IM platform. But I do agree with you on both points.

All signs point to EOL for CIPC one multi-line and EM are supported on Jabber.  I don't see them making another standalone softphone.
