[cisco-voip] automatic updates for Jabber - windows and mac

Yes, there is or was a note somewhere that some web servers don't like the characters in the names. I just upload it to a TFTP node and serve it there.

My trouble is knowing which users have rights. If they don't they get prompted to install something that doesn't work , and it continues until we update them through some other means .

I have done both for Mac and Windows, though both have become useless in my environment due to administrator rights requirements.

Mac users apparently are prompted either for the SU password or to unlock a keychain, and they don't want to give that superuser password to Mac customers here now, though they will deploy through JAMF.

The MAC one requires that really long file name that often contains !'s and such in it, that is available for download.

For example:

<JabberUpdate>
   <App name="JabberMac">
    <LatestBuildNum>269866</LatestBuildNum>
    <LatestVersion>12.1.1</LatestVersion>
    <Message>A new version of Cisco Jabber is available.
Please update your client at your earliest convenience.</Message>
    <DownloadURL>https://TFTPServer:6972/Jabber/Install_Cisco-Jabber-Mac-12.1.1.269866-76849656-MCwCFGTVpWwR0U2yaAR5Z6MT5T3sdE0HAhQ8luMs_vRUffZajT_h_0Q1ksjqzQ!!.zip</DownloadURL<https://TFTPServer:6972/Jabber/Install_Cisco-Jabber-Mac-12.1.1.269866-76849656-MCwCFGTVpWwR0U2yaAR5Z6MT5T3sdE0HAhQ8luMs_vRUffZajT_h_0Q1ksjqzQ!!.zip%3c/DownloadURL>>
   </App>

It works though as well as it does.
