I just picked two used Summit switches (a 48 and 24 - older
series, not 'i').

When they boot up they show:

Version 4.1.19 (Build 2) By Release_Master on Wed 08/09/2000 6:09p

ASIC register and memory test ..........passed

So the mystery is that the green light flashes properly after bootup
(which indicates POST was ok according to the manual) - and the
switch seems to work ok. How do I figure out what the 'failed'
is in reference to? Could this be due to just not having GBIC's
installed? Or is this a real hardware issue?

Thanks for any help!
