Hi Josh,

You should be able to get more details with the command 'show diag'.

Regards, Fabian.

Objet : [e-nsp] failed POST on summit?

I just picked two used Summit switches (a 48 and 24 - older series, not
'i').

When they boot up they show:
ExtremeWare

Version 4.1.19 (Build 2) By Release_Master on Wed 08/09/2000 6:09p
System Serial Number: 0107M00022
Memory Size: 33554432 (32MB)
MAC Address: 00:01:30:b5:6b:00

ASIC register and memory test ..........passed
Start running diagnostic test

.............................................failed

So the mystery is that the green light flashes properly after bootup
(which indicates POST was ok according to the manual) - and the switch
seems to work ok. How do I figure out what the 'failed' is in reference
to? Could this be due to just not having GBIC's installed? Or is this
a real hardware issue?

Thanks for any help!

-josh
