Howdy all,
I have a foundry serveriron XL connected to a Cisco 6509 /w a Sup720.
I noticed today that 40% of my CPU is being used by the ARP Input
process on my Catalyst.
I also noticed by using debug arp on the cisco that pretty much all of
the arp traffic is coming from the ServerIron.
The catalyst has a vlan, and the serveriron is part of that vlan. The
server iron uses the catalyst as its default gateway.
There are hosts connected to the ServerIron which use the server iron
for its gateway.
For some reason it looks like for every destination the serveriron is
sending an arp request to the Catalyst instead of trying to route it.
any ideas?
