I think you aren't right: cam entries are not added per flow but per destination ip, so it's not that bad..

Exactly - this is why I was recommending the upgrade to 3.7.
In fact I was the one who had opened two tac-cases for this problem half a year ago - foundry promised the new cam profile as solution.
