If I understand correctly you have only LERs and no LSRs?  In our network we use all our MLX as LER and LSR without any problems - we also use a the same ring topology you suggested.  The main thing to note is that you can't run MPLS network facing interfaces on VLAN/VEs as with your existing l2 ring.  You need separate physical interfaces east-west on your ring just for IP/MPLS.

Hi,

Anyone has experience with deploying MPLS but without putting any
Provider (P) Router ? Let assume that there are only small numbers of
NetIron MLX/XMR Routers act as Provider Edge (PE) Router and which are
connected as a L2 Ring.
