The EdgeIrons are great for end user ports that might terminate at someone's
cube.  They probably are not the best choice for busy servers, particularly
if you are doing things like NFS between them and that NFS mount is busy.

I wouldn't use EdgeIrons for production servers.  FastIrons would be better
for that but I wouldn't hesitate to use EdgeIrons for ports to employee work
spaces and such.
