HW-202 + GLB synth

HI Folks,
I have a Heath HW-202 (older 2m xtal rig) and have been trying to
interface a GLB synthesizer (mid 70s thing) to it. This was supposed
to be a popular combination back in the 70s. Have any of you had
success with this pair?

The '202 had a power output of 10W so I placed a 25 ohm high wattage
resistor in series with the final's B+ to drop the output down; this
seems to have worked - is this a typical method of lowering output
power (and thus current drain)?
