In the event someone may have missed earlier intallments, please
check the archives at Tempe for them. Also, be advised this list is for
the purpose of providing information about some of the older gear that I
have information on. THIS GEAR IS NOT LISTED FOR SALE. I only own a
few of the items presented. Thank you.
MISCELLANOUS OLDER HEATH TEST GEAR--pART 1
TC-2 Tube Checker, Checks overall quality, filament continuity and
indicates shorted or open elements. Illuminated chart, harness wiring,
large 3-color meter scale. 12 lbs. 1954 price: $29.50.
Portable model: TC-2P. $34.50. 14 lbs. Number 91-8 cabinet, 7 lbs.
$7.50.
Number 355 TV Picture Tube adapter, 1 lb., $4.50.
S-2 Electronic Switch. Companion piece to a scope. Feed 2
different signals into the switch, connect it to a scope, and see both
signals, each as an individual trace. Gain of each input easily set
(Gain A and Gain B controls). Switching frequency adjustable with
coarse and fine frequency controls. Traces can be superimposed for
comparison, or separated for individual study with Position Control. 11
lbs. 1952 price: $19.50.
AF-1 Audio Frequency Meter. For determining frequency from 20Hz to
100 kHz. Set slector switch to proper range, feed signal to input
terminals and read frequency on meter. Simpson 200 microamp meter with
2 scales (0-100 and 0-300), that read in conjunction with the 7-position
slector switch to give full scale readings of 100, 300, 1000, 3000,
10,000, 30,000 and 100,000 kHz. The 1:3:10 ratio is maintained and each
range has an individually calibrated control. A signal voltage anywhere
between 2-v and 300-v can be fed directly into the instrument and a
change in signal voltage between these limits will not affect the meter
reading. Input wave shape not critical; will read either sine or square
wave. Tubes: 6SJ7 amp/clipper, 6V6 amp/clipper, 6H6 meter pulse
rectifier, 6X5 power supply rectifier, and OD3/VR-150 voltage
regulator. 15 lbs. 1952 price: $34.50.
IM-1 Intermodulation Analyzer Kit. Supplies a choice of 2 hi
frequencies (approx. 3000 Hz and 7000 Hz), and one lo frequency of 60
Hz. Both 1:1 and 4:1 ratios of lo to high frequencies can be set up for
Intermodulation testing, and the ratios are easily set by means of a
panel control and the instrument's own VTVM. An output level control
supplies the mixed signal at the desired level with an ouput impedance
of 2000-ohms. The analyzer section has input level control and proper
filter circuits feeding the instrument's VTVM to read Intermodulation
Distortion directly on full scale ranges of 30%, 10% and 3%. 18 lbs.
1952 price: $39.50.
T-3 Signal Tracer. Five tubes. High-gain RF input channel, used in
conjunction with a wide-frequency range demodulator probe. High RF
sensitivity permits signal tracing at the receiver antenna input.
Separate low-gain channel probe available for audio circuit checking.
Both input channels constantly monitored by an eye tube. Can be used
for comparative estimation of stage gain. Has noise localizer circuit
in conjunction with the audio probe. With this system, a DC potential
is applied to the suspected circuit component and the action of the
voltage on the component can be seen and heard. Great for finding
intermittent or noisy condensers, resistors, controls, coils, IF and
power transformers, etc. A built-in calibrated wattmeter circuit gives
a quick check of total power consumption of the device under test.
Separate panel terminals provide external use of the speaker or output
transformer for substitution purposes. These terminals also permit use
of other shop equipment, such as a scope or VTVM. Can be used as a
high-gain amplifier for checking tuners, record changers, mikes,
phonograph crystal pickups, etc. 10 lbs. 1953 price: $23.50.
T-4. Visual-Aural Signal Tracer. Small unit. Built-in speaker and eye
tube for signal indication, plus noise-location circuit. 5 lbs. 1959
price: $19.95.
C-3 Condenser Checker. Measures unknown caps and resistors. All
readings are taken from calibrated panel scales--no involved
calculations. Capacity measurement in ranges from .00001 mfd. to 1,000
mfd. Checks paper, mica, ceramic and electrolytic condensers. Power
factor control for accurate indication of electrolytic condenser
measurements. Leakage test switch with switch selection of five
polarizing voltages, 25-v to 450-v DC, indicates condition and operating
quality under actual load conditions. Spring return leakage switch
automatically discharges condenser under test, eliminating shock
hazard. Resistance range: 100-ohms to 5-megohms. 8 lbs. 1953 price:
$19.50.
CM-1 Direct-Reading Capacity Meter. Read value directly on 4 1/2"
meter calibrated in mfd. and Pf ranges: 0-100 Pf, 1000 Pf, 0.01 mfd.,
and 0.1 mfd full scale. Not susceptible to hand capacity effects. 7
lbs. 1957 price: $29.50.
CT-1 In-Circuit Capacity Checkeer. Checks for openand short right
in the circuit. Detects open capacitors from about 50 Pf that are not
shunted by an excessively low resistance. Checkes shorted caps up to 20
mfd not shunted by less than 10-ohms. Checks all bypass, blocking and
coupling caps, whether paper, mica or ceramic. Does not check leakage
or electrolytics. Eye tube for fast indication. Five-position switch
controls power to the unit and selects the test being made. 5lbs. 1959
price. $7.95.
END OF MISC, Part 1. More later.
