Chuck,

I'm not an expert here by any means but here's my thoughts. As a
maintenence repair man, I deal with relays almost on a daily basis. Quite
a few of our machines (plastic molding machines) are quite old and still
use relay logic. Whenever we have a chattering relay it usually means the
contacts are wore out and it's time to replace the relay or the contacts if
possible. _Sometimes_ and I do mean once in a great while, we are able to
clean the contacts with some emery cloth which helps them make better
contact and stops the arcing and chattereing. But it is inevitable that we
will have to change it in the future. Hope this helps...

Aaron

A friend of mine has a Seneca that is giving him some trouble. There is
a relay that when energized, grounds the center tap of a transformer to
provide HV for the transmitter.
Problem is, the relay chatters and arcs when energized. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
