HG-10 VFO Bandswitch Dial Stringing

Can anyone tell me how to restring the bandswitch dial string on a
Heathkit HG-10 VFO?  The one I just bought had a cobbled together
arrangement that didn't work properly and, unfortunately, the manual
wasn't with the unit.

A description of the stringing method, a scanned image from the manual,
ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
