Most test equipment with coil forms have ceramic forms. But most ham gear,
Heathkit especially, have paper coil forms that will, without doubt, fall
apart if subjected to much water exposure. Since those coils will be
difficult to replace, I think I'd hesitate to do this kind of "wet" cleanup
with any ham gear that have IF or RF transformers or coils.
