Cleaning battery corrosion

Find yourself a battery package with an 800 # and call for info on cleaning out
corrosion. I called Mallory (Duracell), and they told me what to use for each
type of battery chemistry.

Some are acidic, some are alkaline, and some are ?

Cleanup can range from vinegar, to baking soda+water to alcohol! (I think the
latter was for lithium battery corrosion). People usually say not to put the
lithium battery itself in water, on the assumption that lithium reacts violently
with water, but I think there isn't free lithium floating in there. Don't quote
me, however).
