Well at least I remembered correctly that there was a 6AU6 in there :<) Pretty
cool that there is a JFET in there too. Would have been pretty expensive back
in 1969. I'll have to look at the schematic to see if the "bad" diode from gate
to ground is in there. Dr. Rohde says that is definately a bad thing for good
operation.
I presume that the SB-100, 101, 102 used the same VFO? I'll have to look at the
schematics.

If we can beleive the 1969 Heath catalog in front of me now, which states,
"And the HW-100 is the only rig that uses a Field Effect Transistor (FET) in
the VFO for superior thermal stability." the HW-100 evidently used a
Junction field effect transistor, (JFET), as the VFO, which was then
followed by a 6AU6 tube as a buffer.
