Well, that was the whole idea. I was trying to optimize the filter for
CW. The filter in the HR-10B is OK for AM reception, passible for SSB,
but way too wide for CW.

By December 1975, I bought a used SB-301. So, I only used the HR-10B for
about 9 months.
