A not so gentle reminder - HV is unforgiving

Reminds me of my first BA--a Heath AT-1 acquired when I was young and stupid and
had no appreciation of it's value...also the first heathkit I completely
"rekitted".  Came the time to check +HV, so I took my [insulated] VTVM leads, one
in each hand, and proceeded to get knocked on my tailbone.  Came to find out the
rubber boots over the alligator clips on BOTH leads had cracks in them right at
the point you squeeze to open the clip.
At that point, I figured I had used my one freebie...
