Thank you for this great insight and thanks to all who have commented.
Having worked for a company who changed owners four times in five years
while at the same time coping with new technology, I can understand how all
of these sorts of things happen. I agree with you that Heath bent over
backwards to help me the few times that I had problems with their kits.
(By the way, I own an SB-104A which I built and still use).
I certainly took no glee in the HW-2036 story. It's a sad commentary,
indeed. Along those lines, I did appreciate your comment, "and my opinion
was that the SB-104 was certainly pushed to production for the 1974
Christmas buying season too quickly;". Seems to me a similar thing happened
concerning some "O" rings on a solid rocket booster a little over 10 years
ago......... 'nuff said!
