Question on Dial Drums

The draftsman in our group at work is an Autocad Wizard and I
recently took the remains of an Apache dial drum into work to see if he
could perhaps design up an overlay that could be printed on a frosty
mylar sheet which could then be fastened to a new poylystyrene or
polyethelyne or what ever plastic tube. Most of my Grief Kits TX-1,
RX1, and a few others have dial drums that look more like a mozaic tile
floor than a radio dial.
He think's the process will be fairly straight forward and I said
that if he is successful that there might be a modest market for his
work among the Heath List. In any case I have no financial interest in
this venture beyond investing in some platic tubing and some frosty
overlay mylar sheets to get my gear fixed up a bit. But I sad that I'd
poll the folks and see if there was any interest in the idea or to see
if it had already been tried and failed or what ever. I'll pass your
comments on to the fellow and he can deal with it from that point on.
Tnx for the read.
