Hello:

The gossip I heard (prior to employment at Heath), was that the interference
was to aeronautical communications (perhaps worse than police
communications).

I don't remember what I found out to support that rumor once I got a Heath
job, but someone did tell me that there was a recall, and that it was a real
pain in the neck to get people to respond to it at times. Similarly, safety
recalls are a real nightmare...for who knows what reasons, some people won't
cooperate. Maybe someone else can confirm, but I seem to recall that some
bribery had to be resorted to at least once to get some goofball to give up
his 2036! maybe I'm making up more stories, but I seem to recall a 2026 that
really hit the wall worse that the 2036...might not have shipped at all, or
not many. Then again, could be my imagination getting too active, and
another longer-lived Heathen can straighten out my fish stories.
