HD 10 / HD 1410

Well, I guess I will quote from my major source on things Heath - Chuck
Penson's book (that way he gets the heat!) -
HD10: ".. Heath's first keyer .. it was, in retrospect, not a very good
design .. lacked adjustability .. had poor dot/dash weighting scheme,
(etc)... HD-10s are not rare and (often) show up at flea markets ... often
with problems"

HD-1410: "Unlike its predecessor, the HD-10, the HD-1410 is a very nice
keyer and features self-completing, iambic operation"

So from this, I would definately opt to the HD-1410. As an aside, there
are also a lot of very nice keys out there such as the MFJ units. So lots
of stuff to pick from and lots of fun to be had. Hope this helps.

Can anyone tell me the differences between these two keyers and what would
be better for a newbie?
