Why did heath die?

Just to put my two pfennigs worth in here - I have built one of the Ten-Tec
2m FM transceivers and found it to be a very enjoyable experience - the
manual is very well written and the rig is quite nice. As you build each
section of the rig (front panel control, rcvr, xmtr, etc.) you can check
it out before proceeding to the next part - a nice touch. I'd (heresy!)
compare it to building one of the solid state Heathkits as an
experience. Nowhere near as good as an old point-to-point wiring kit,
but still nice - and good value for the money.
