Its a great little receiver. I used one as a Novice and it makes a nice SWL
or CW radio. You have already noticed it is well built. Do a Yahoo search for
it and military AND radio and you will find details. It is a WW2 set and
covered araound 2-18 MHz (but it was long ago). There were a lot of guys that
had them for $125 in early 50's and less in early 60's (60 or so if you were
lucky) from Radio  Row in NYC and similar surplus outlets. They worked far
better than beginner short waves of the time. When looking at the prices
above, recall that $3800 was a decent ANNUAL salary then.  They are a nice
collectors item and if in working/restorable shape a nice add-on to ham shack
or den. Granted , not cute, but a lot of character.  If you see a BC348, it
is the next one up ladder from the 312, BTW. There are lists (on another PC)
concerned with such items and , like this one, can give u a lot of info or
where to find it.
